Examiner for GCSE Exam board
QTS, Enhanced DBS

About me:
Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Heidi Lenz and I have been working in education since 2006.
Originally from Canada, I enjoyed many years working as a French and Humanities teacher in a variety of secondary schools, including in the Hertfordshire county.
Over the years, I have helped thousands of students successfully prepare for a variety of exams including: language exams (up to A level), humanities GCSE exams, SATS and 11 plus.
Equally, I have been on the other side of the exam experience as an examiner. Even today, I enjoy working as an examiner for one of the major exam boards, allowing me to continue my professional development as an educator, and to gain insight on the tools needed to be successful at preparing for and writing exams.

My Approach:
I believe in fostering a love of learning by creating engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and building up each individual's confidence as a learner.
Mental health plays a vital role in student success, as it helps alleviate anxiety and fosters a positive learning environment. I believe it is essential to acknowledge each student's areas of strength while also encouraging them to develop their areas for improvement. This can be achieved through consistent assessments and reports provided to the students and their parents and caregivers.
By nurturing a supportive environment, I hope to empower the students to thrive both academically and emotionally, resulting in a positive experience as they prepare for exam papers.
